It was my first time at Hotel Elizabeth yesterday and the timing was perfect since it was their 1st year anniversary. The location of the hotel is very strategic as it is within walking distance of the Ayala Center Cebu.
Taking a look around the entire hotel, I noticed the owner's love for Santorini. The design including photos in the rooms gave a hint of this. I was told that the hotel was designed by famous designer Tessa Prieto Valdez.
The rooms were elegant and stylish. I particularly liked the Honeymoon suite. The other rooms are perfect for businessmen on the go. The breakfast I heard was superb, some preferring to take breakfast here even if they are not staying in the hotel.
The food based on what was served cocktail style was delicious. I got to taste their selection of seafood and cold cuts.
The ballroom is a good alternative for seminars which can accommodate around 200 plus participants. The staff were all smiles which is good. The performers in the piano bar have a wide selection of songs.
The hotel is managed by the Fernando family who manages the Fersal group of Hotels/Inns. Elizabeth is named after the family matriarch and she was present along with her daughter for the event. There are paintings in the walls of the hotel depicting the life of the hotel owner.
The first anniversary celebration of the hotel was well attended by the hotel's business partners, suppliers and media including the Cebu Bloggers Society. The hotel staff made a surprise song number which appears to be the future theme song of the hotel and it resulted into a standing ovation from Mrs. Elizabeth Fernando.
Governor Gwen Garcia and Mayor Mike Rama graced the occasion although they did not come at the same time. The mayor fresh from the launching of the 75th Charter Day Celebration of the city sang a song (Lovely) which drew generous cheers and applause from the audience as he modified some parts of the lyrics to fit the event.
During this said event, prizes were given via raffle draw which included an overnight stay to the hotel in Cebu and Baguio. I won one of them.
The band provided the appropriate musical background for the event and everybody had a good time.
Looking forward for more events in Elizabeth Hotel. And looking forward to be able to spend one night with my wife here in this hotel this May with the gift certificate I won from them. Then I will make my own review of the hotel based on my experience.
This is one business boutique hotel in Cebu that I think many will go to especially this Sinulog.
