I really admire business personalities who started out as small but became big eventually. One example I can think of is the Generics Pharmacy wherein branches in different locations have sprouted out of nowhere.
Doctors too want to invest in business such as the franchising business.
Recently, I had this discussion with a friend who wants to enter into a franchise business. Well, this could be the right time to go into franchising especially the Philippines.
According to a joint statement made by 32 countries that attended the World Franchise Council meeting in Berlin, Germany, franchising will continue to strongly fuel the growth of some of the world's largest and emerging economies.
Signs are encouraging in our country since according to Samie Lim (Philippine Franchise Association chairman emeritus and incumbent World Franchise Council chair), "...more and more Philippine banks are now looking more closely to franchising and are offering better programs."
Now would be the right time to learn about franchising. Therefore it is good news that the Philippines will host Franchise Asia, 2011, Asia's biggest and most important four-in-one event at the SMX Convention Center near the SM Mall of Asia on September 19-25, 2011.
The theme for this event is "Asia to the World. The World to Asia" with the primary goal of providing the platform to showcase to the world, the best Philippine franchise brands and concepts, as well as to provide a gateway for international brands to enter the rich ASEAN market through the Philippines.
Leading figures of the global franchising community will gather together for this event which is headlined by twin meetings of the Asia Pacific Franchise Confederation and the World Franchise Council.
The event will also feature the International Franchise Conference from September 22-23, the International Franchise Expo (September 23-25) and Educational Sessions/Seminars (September 24-25).
The conference will feature case presentations of industry leaders on the making of successful brands and will have as speakers Jollibee's Tony Tan Caktiong, Krispy Kreme's Jeff Welch, 7-Eleven's Chris Tanco and Mang Inasal's Edgar Sia II with their success stories. There will be a business fora as well as sessions with a panel of experts discussing topics such as "Social Media: Going beyond Facebook for Better Marketing, Customer Engagement and Enhanced Profitability." There will also be breakout sessions for franchisers and franchisees.
